We have 1000's of items and materials made for laser engraving and we get many calls asking if we can engrave a certain item they would like to bring to us.
When you call or email, we'll ask:
The item's size - the laser can hold a "box" that's 24" wide x 18" x 11" high. If your item is longer than 18", we can engrave to 18" from one end. For example, a canoe paddle can be engraved on the blade or handle, but not right in the middle.
The item's shape - the laser requires a surface to be pretty flat. The surface can only change within 0.1" and remain "in focus". A complex shape with 2 or more curves, like a wine glass or a dome, might be possible. We might ask to see a picture of your item or need to see the item in-person.
What it's made of - The laser can engrave a large variety of materials but has some limits. Metal can't be engraved directly but we can laser mark some metal surfaces (YETI cups) or use our mechanical engraver. Plastics containing chlor/ine/ide/ate (such as PVC) are not possible.
